The Lutz Center for Community Service at Cedar Crest College provides the campus community with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to recognize, advocate and effect positive social change in an ever-transforming global society. The Center is based on a social justice model which recognizes the need for fair treatment of individuals and groups and a just share for all in society.

The Allentown City Council aims to offer good services in a fair and clear way. Their goal is to make Allentown a better place for everyone to live, work, and have fun. You can find when City Council and specific council meetings happen on the city's Public Meeting Calendar. Most meetings are held at City Hall in the City Council Chambers on the 1st Floor at 425 Hamilton Street, Allentown PA 18101, unless noted otherwise.

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nationwide, nonpartisan grassroots organization of women and men who believe that through informed action people can make profound changes in their communities. They empower voters and defend democracy through education, advocacy and litigation.

Poll Workers And Interpreters Needed for the Upcoming Election!

General Information & Responsibilities: To be eligible, you must be a citizen of the United States. You must also be at least 18 years old and a registered voter of Lehigh County. Poll Workers have generalized responsibilities and help provide resources and services to voters on election day at polling locations across the county.

Hours & Payment: Polls are open from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Poll Workers are required to be at their assigned polling location no later than 6:00am – 6:15am to help setup before opening to the public. Clerks, Interpreters, and Inspectors are paid a tax-exempt amount of $195.00 while elected or appointed Judge of Elections are paid $240.00.Students eligible for FWS will be paid $10/hr from the College in addition to the stipend from Lehigh County.

Mandatory Training and Election Day Responsibilities: All returning and new poll workers are required to take a training class. Poll Workers will fulfill essential duties that include: setting up supplies and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing privacy stations, processing voters as they enter the polling location, and directing people through the voting process.

If you indicate that you are fluent in Spanish, you will be responsible for ensuring that Spanish-speaking voters understand the voting process and are not subject to intimidation or other tactics that discourage people from voting on election day.
