Civic Engagement: Important Dates

Civic Holidays

Nonpartisan days of action that strengthen and celebrate our country’s democracy! They bring together a wide range of organizations and communities in pursuit of an America where everyone participates and votes. Each holiday accounts for a different phase of democratic participation and thanking the community members who make elections possible. Together, the Civic Holidays celebrate the entire voting experience.

REGISTER

First observed in 2012, over 5 million voters have registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day to date. As many as 1 in 5 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. Help us change that!

EDUCATE

National Voter Education Week (NVEW) is an open-source, nonpartisan voter education campaign. During this week of interactive education, voters have the opportunity to find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote, and inspire others to get involved. Together, we can help voters overcome common barriers to become confident voters and ambassadors of voting in their own communities for every election.

VOTE

When you vote early… You ensure that busy schedules, Election Day lines, or last minute problems won’t stop you from sharing your voice!

HONOR

Election Hero Day is a nonpartisan, national celebration recognizing the tremendous contributions that election officials, their staff, and poll workers make to ensure a safe, secure voting experience for all Americans. Taking place on November 4, 2024 - the day before Election Day - nonprofits, business leaders, brands, public officials, and more will unite to honor the election heroes in our communities.
