Services: Interlibrary Loan: Home

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows Cedar Crest college students, faculty, and staff to request and borrow materials including books, journal articles, and book chapters that are not available through Cressman Library. Physical materials from other libraries will be delivered to Cressman Library and available to pick-up from the Library Service Desk. Electronic materials, such as journal articles, will be emailed to the requestor as a PDF file from library@cedarcrest.edu.

Please note: it is our library policy that we not request course textbooks through ILL.

Requesting Interlibrary Loans through the Library Catalog

If you are searching in the Cressman Library catalog, the item results will include the locations: At Cedar Crest College Library, LVAIC (Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges), or At Other Libraries Worldwide at the bottom of the record. If the item is available at LVAIC or at other libraries, we may be able to request the item through Interlibrary Loan. To place a request:

  1. Confirm the item is available at LVAIC or at another library.

  2. Click on the item title and, then click the Request Item Item through Interlibrary Loan button in the access box on the right-hand screen.

  3. Fill out the required address and contact information at the bottom of the WorldShare ILL Request Form, then click submit request. Note: if you are accessing the form off-campus or on a personal laptop, you will be required to authenticate through our EZproxy when redirecting to the form. Your EZproxy login is your Campus Network (FalconNet) username and password.

Requesting Interlibrary Loans through our ILL Form

If you know the item you would like to request through Interlibrary Loan, you can use our Interlibrary Loan Request Form to place your request directly with a librarian. If you have addition questions about filling our the form or placing a request, contact Nicole Rivera, Public Services Librarian (narivera@cedarcrest.edu) with additional questions.

Renewing Materials

Loan periods can differ for ILL physical materials, but are generally for a one-month period. Renewals need to be requested to Nicole Rivera (narivera@cedarcrest.edu), and are dependent on the loaning library's policies.
