Intro to eBooks

Introduction to eBooks tutorial by Cressman Library

Read eBooks Online

If the library has full access to a title, users are able to read the entire text. E- readers display the text in a web browser that users can navigate by page number, table of contents, or word search. Databases without that feature allow users to download or view the book in PDF format.

Download and Print

Most databases also allow users to download and print portions of eBooks. Standard download options include entire chapters or page number ranges.

Downloading and printing is restricted to a percentage of the eBook, unless it is open access. Some databases allow users to download entire eBooks for a limited amount of time, which requires the creation of an account and installation of e-reader software.
